Friday Fill-Ins hosted by Janet

1. Enough with the freezing cold weather in Canada; -40 degrees!

2. A Century Party (a drinking game) this Saturday and an overtime opportunity Saturday night (midnight-8am) causes me to be conflicted. Ps. I went with the overtime… I know, I know.

3. I’ve been craving to purchase nice, new clothes (on sale!).

4. Baby moose playing in a lawn sprinkler makes me laugh.

5. I wish I could go to a resort down south next week.

6. Leaving my job to travel around Europe or Australia has been on my mind lately.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to being done with the overtime and being able to relax, tomorrow my plans include groceries, nap, work at midnight and Sunday, I want to relax!

Music & Art – What Do You Think?

If I Were A Boy; do you prefer BC Jean’s version of the song – the woman who actually wrote the words! – or the more famously known rendition by Beyonce?

Personally, I love BC’s raspy voice. I’ve been listening to it over and over in the past couple days.

I can spend hours on YouTube. I look one thing up and then from there I just stumble upon one thing to another.  Below, is a video of artist Nick San Pedro painting Britney Spears Circus. The video is pretty cool and so is his style. He is infamous for celebrity portraits. Check out his website for more faces and he also sells the paintings and prints as well.

Thanks for stopping by, and  until next time, have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

Friday Fill-Ins

I work Monday to Friday until 11:30pm, which is the best time for me to write in this blog. Therefore, it is currently, 1:45am, and it is officially Friday! Which means two things: (1) I had booked off Friday to have a long weekend, sort of a birthday present to myself (birthday was January 6th) and (2) This Friday meme posted below! Have a great Friday guys, have fun and be safe!

1. It’s January; it’s that time of year to hit the gym again… any day now...

2.  French Onion soup from the Keg is what I crave most right now

3. Cork and wine go together like  plastic bags and twist-ties. I was going to say something else, but I don’t think everyone needs to know how immature I can be.

4. Chocolate milk, when hungover, is so nourishing.

5. Let us dare to call in sick to work (yea, right! I’m sayin’ perfect attendance for 2009).

6. Canada will always be my home.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to shopping, relaxing, reading, tomorrow my plans include a meat fondue with friends for my 21st birthday and Sunday, I want to drink mimosas!

Thanks for stopping by!

Books, Books, Books!

A lot of these blog entries have been about goals and resolutions. This one will be no different. I love reading and I ought to be doing it a lot more often, so this has become one of my resolutions, as you may have already learned. I have compiled a reading list of 30 books for myself to be completed by the year’s end. A few titles may be subject to change, without notice (and I’m already thinking of changing a few titles). Here’s my list of books I would like to read:

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen

If you’ve already read a book and do not mind sharing with me you’re opions/reviews on it or have heard not-so-good/great reviews on a certain title, please let me know! I would love to hear  about it and I’m open for suggestions as well! Thanks again for stopping by and have a wonderful Thursday!

Welcome, Wednesday, Come On In!

Here is to the wonderful weirdness that is Wednesday!

1. Why do you keep a blog?

I cannot think of any good reason except for mere personal pleasure. I read other people’s blogs, I read and I read all the time, and I just always wanted to write myself! Nothing was ever stopping me. Well, except that I thought you needed to have some kind of a reason or some sort of theme such as a craft blog or a fashion blog, something or other, and that you could not just have a random blog. I couldn’t think of anything I wanted to focus in on if I were to have my own blog. So I’m just not going to. It’ll be about anything and everything. Hey, it’s my blog! So to sum it up: an outlet for personal writing, like a journal. And as you’ll notice, I’m pretty brand spankin’ new too – this is my third post; the blog is only 2 or 3 days old!

2. Who is one long lost blogger you wish would come back?

There’s a couple of them. I use to follow blogs religiously when I was in middle and high school. was among a hand full of them (before it became an amateur porn site). And I would follow I also followed (or com or org or I don’t remember now).

3. If you made a New Year’s Resolution, did you break it already? If you did not make one, why?

I have made several resolutions, refer to my first post. Let’s just say, it’s still in the making. There is still time! The year is not yet over! Admittedly, I haven’t been completely devoted to these resolutions in the past week, and I agree that it’s not the best start. However, I do have a plan! It’s not as if I’m trying to quit smoking and I just fell off the wagon. I’m actually a non-smoker by the way. My resolutions are not a make it or break it deal. I’m still good.

4. People who still have their outside Christmas lights up. Festive or Lazy? Discuss.

Festive! There are some people who might actually be just plain ‘ol lazy, but do you blame them all that much? You spend all that time and all that energy just to get ’em on up there, so why not enjoy the pretty night lights for as long as you possibly can!

5. What is the last annoying song that got trapped in your head?

Poker Face by Lady Gaga. When I first heard it, I liked it. It was a fun little dance song. But now? It is starting to get on my nerves.

6. Have you ever worn or tried edible underwear? What are your thoughts on it?

Great question. No I haven’t tried it. And will I ever try it? Most likely not. I’m pretty open minded and enjoy trying new things, but seriously, I don’t see how this is at all sexy. I am trying to picture it. I don’t even know what a pair really looks like! I guess I could just google it, but before I do, I’m thinking it’s either like a Fruit Roll-up type thing, or like the candies that are made into necklaces or bracelets and you bite them off (I’ve seen edible bras made like that before). The idea to me just seems kind of silly. I’m looking at photos on google now and the Pull N Peel knitted thong looks cool! Although, I personally just cannot see myself wearing a pair. But maybe I’m wrong.

Bonus: If you could do one bad thing and get away with it, what would you do and why?

I already do bad things and get away with it 😉

Thanks for reading ladies and gents! And just a note: I’m new and still learning what all WordPress has to offer. So all I ask is that you bear with me. If you have any tips, suggestions, or any general comments, feel free to post and let me know. Thanks again!

Ten on Tuesday

It’s Ten on Tuesday time!

10 Things You Want to do in 2009 :

  1. Save & invest more of my money. I will contribute monthly to my RRSP instead of yearly. Continue with m CSB. And open up another investment account. I know I am lucky to live at home, so I’m milkin’ it while I can!
  2. Work as much overtime as I can when it is offered, especially in the summertime
  3. Save up my PTO (paid-time-off days) for a nice trip next winter
  4. Stop being such a lazy bum, stop procrastinating, and become more active (this will prove more difficult for me considering I do work a sedentary job)
  5. Get to the beach more often this summer; work on a good tan
  6. Continue with my reading list for 2009
  7. Volunteer more than I do; give back to the community
  8. Redesign and organize my bedroom – And I mean new paint and that whole shee-bang! And new dressers. The ones I have now are hand me downs from my mother, pretty much antiques (of no value). They’re great, of course, especially considering how frugal I can be… until they fall apart. And I have drawers full of random crap (maybe that’s why they’re broken!) But I don’t even go into them, I don’t know what’s in there! There’s no reason for this and should be completely cleaned out. I need to think minimalist.
  9. Learn to build on the friendships I already have with my girlfriends and also, strike up conversations with strangers, (possible new friendships).
  10. I know there’s something else I want to do this year! Oh yea, well I’ve been looking at crafts online! They’re this Big Ass Book of Crafts book I want to get. Oh and photography as well – as that it one of my New Years Resolutions, to take more pictures.

Now I just have to find the time for all this. Each and every one listed are realistic and attainable so I know I can do it! And it’s over the span of one year! Hell yea! That’s nothing! Thanks for a motivational list Yano!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Something to know about me: I love words. This is actually just a new found love as of late. Admittedly, I have never really enjoyed words as much as I do now. Perhaps not being in school anymore (ie. High School or university) has something to do with it, especially where as I am eager to learn! And now, where I am no longer in an environment that encourages and soley focuses on this sort of behavior, I really have to depend on myself to keep learning continuously, now that I am no longer in an education institution of any kind.

I work an eight hour job, seven days a week – if not more, – and it is merely words that bring an elatedness to my day. I am constantly jotting down unfamiliar or uncertain words, checking its pronunciation using online dictionaries. I always have a pen and paper handy, otherwise my iPod Touch will do the trick, and either in conversation or reading novels and articles, I will take note of a word and look it up immediately or go back to it shortly after. This is just one of my few goals for 2009, which is to expand my vocabulary.

As was previously mentioned, expanding my vocabulary is one of many other New Year’s resolutions. The following are other resolutions I have set for myself, and they are:

  1. Take more pictures – which means charge my camera regularly. I miss cameras that just took measly ‘ol AA batteries
  2. Learn to cook
  3. Read more than I already do – I’ve created a reading list on my facebook, which I will post here later.
  4. Go to the gym – enough said.
  5. Take a crash course on my car (ie, learn how to open the hood and check oil, etc)
  6. Think before talking; be more considerate of others feelings & how they may perceive me
  7. Have a blog
  8.  Become devoted to a couple memes during the week
  9. Be more tidy & organized
  10. Expand my vocabulary – look out for my Wednesday Words: new words I’ve learned, displayed here on a weekly basis.
